Why read this?

This blog is for my family and friends to keep up to date about my happenings while I am away for two years in Africa. I know my mom, for one, is probably super confused by the whole blogging thing but blogs are an easier and less time consuming way to stay connected than sending mass e-mails to everyone. I will try to post as often as I can while in Africa but that still may be sporadically because of my distance from reliable internet connections. But I will do my best.

Until I leave I will try and get this thing up an running and updated with information about my departure as soon as I hear it from Peace Corps!
